Dual-threat carries the Spring Mills Cardinals Varsity past Musselman (Inwood, WV) 9-4

Cody Hammond powered the Spring Mills Cardinals Varsity at the plate and on the rubber Tuesday, willing the Spring Mills Cardinals Varsity to a 9-4 victory over Musselman .

Hammond had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits. He singled in the first inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and tripled in the second and fifth innings.

Hammond's nine strikeouts helped the Spring Mills Cardinals Varsity to the victory. Hammond allowed one earned run, six hits and four walks over six innings.

The Spring Mills Cardinals Varsity were sparked by Colby Werry and Hammond, who teamed up for six hits and three RBIs.

Nick Haman couldn't get it done on the mound for Musselman , taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.

Musselman jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the top of the first. More runs came home for Musselman when Haman and Farrell scored on a two-run error and Burcker scored on an RBI single by Sine.
